CONSERVATION TREES AND BULBS AVAILABLE FOR FALL

August 1 @ 8:00 am - September 21 @ 5:00 pm

CONSERVATION TREES AND BULBS AVAILABLE FOR FALL

Fall is an excellent time to plant trees for wildlife habitat, erosion control, establishing windbreaks and screens, and reforesting open land. Washtenaw County Conservation District is offering conifer trees, fall-planted bulbs, animal repellents and tree planting aids as part of their Annual Fall Tree Sale. Tree species available include: 3 or 4-year old bare-root transplants of Balsam Fir, White Cedar, White Pine, Norway Spruce and White Spruce. All orders will be available for pick-up on Saturday, October 13th from 10 am to 2 pm at the Washtenaw County Farm Council Grounds (5055 Ann Arbor-Saline Rd). Orders can be submitted directly on the district website at www.washtenawcd.org or downloaded from the website and sent into the office (7203 Jackson Road, Ann Arbor 48103).

New to the Fall Sale this season is a variety of fall-planted bulbs. Crocus, Winter buttercup, Siberian quill, Anemone, Camassia lilly, Allium, Fritillaria, and Dutch Iris can be purchased in quantities of 3, 10 and 25. These bulbs make excellent early forage for bee populations. A “Bulbs for Bees Bundle” of 10 will also be available and includes a mix of Crocus, Anemone and Iris.

Orders will be accepted through September 21st, 2018. To request a copy of the Fall Conservation Tree Sale order form, please contact the District Manager, Megan DeLeeuw at (734) 718.5506, megan.deleeuw@macd.org or stop by the District office (7203 Jackson Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103).

The Washtenaw County Conservation District is a local unit of state government, assisting private landowners, businesses and others, with management of their natural resources in Washtenaw County. The District is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
