Grosse Pointe Shores Resident to Speak at CPAC 2019

Strobl Joins Impressive Speaker List at Preeminent Conservative Conference

Grosse Pointe Shores, MI [Immediate Release]:  Grant Strobl (Grosse Pointe Shores, MI) will speak at the 2019 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).  Sponsored by the American Conservative Union, CPAC is the most recognized annual conference for conservative political activists.  Learn more here http://cpac.conservative.org/speakers/grant-strobl/

Strobl serves as National Chairman of Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) and is a frequent spokesman concerning the topic of free speech on campuses across the country.  He received a national response in support of his efforts to block the University of Notre Dame’s decision to cover historically relevant art. Learn more here https://ndsmcobserver.com/2019/02/uncover-the-columbus-murals/   He is also completing his second two year term as an elected member of Michigan’s 14th Congressional District Republican Executive Committee.

CPAC 2019 will be from February 27 to March 2, 2019 at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, 201 Waterfront Street, National Harbor, MD 20745.  Learn more here http://cpac.conservative.org/

Announced speakers at CPAC 2019 include: Television and radio personality Mark Levin, Senator Mike Lee (R – Utah), Judge Jeanine Pirro, Brexit leader Nigel Farage, and RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel.

CPAC attracts a large number of young conservatives.  Those are the same students targeted on campus for their political views.  My presentation will bring attention to the continuing issue of attacks on conservative speakers and programs on campuses across the country,” said Strobl. “Time and again free speech is being restricted by university administrators. These administrators do little or nothing to prevent violent protesters and hecklers who effectively veto conservative speech. That is not free speech.”

Strobl has written frequently about free speech on college campuses and his opinions have been reported in numerous media outlets.  His column about targeting conservatives appeared in Real Clear Politics https://www.realclearpolitics.com/2017/06/20/since_trump039s_election_targeting_of_conservatives_has_spiked_413467.html.  His column about the tripling of campus disruptions since Presidnet Trump’s election appeared in the Independent Journal Review http://ijr.com/opinion/2017/06/266063-yaf-number-conservative-events-disrupted-protestors-tripled-since-trumps-election/.

Universities need to remove disruptors who unduly interfere with events held by student groups, regardless of speakers’ viewpoints,” said Strobl.  “When radical left or conservatives break the law, they should face the consequences.”

Strobl, who attends the University of Notre Dame Law School, graduated from the University of Michigan in 2018. Learn more about his role at YAF here http://www.yaf.org/staff/grant-strobl/.

Grant is a national spokesman who brings much needed attention to the issue of conservatives being silenced on our college campuses,” said Janine Kateff, 14th District Chairwoman.  “He continues to well represent YAF and his generation of campus conservatives. Our entire 14th District Executive Committee is very proud that Grant is using a national platform, like CPAC, to inform leaders about the important issue of campus free speech.”
