July Events at the Plymouth Ann Arbor Elks Lodge 325

July 5 @ 8:00 am - July 31 @ 5:00 pm

July at the Elks brings the West Side Ramblers who provide free entertainment playing Dixieland/Bluegrass Music on the first Thursday of the month, July 5th from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Burger Night at the Plymouth Ann Arbor Elks Lodge 325.  Limited menu available from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.  The group is made up of 5 veteran musicians – Morgan Humecky on vocals, lead guitar and banjo; Sherry Humecky on the hammered dulcimer; Brian Newsom on chord melody/rhythm banjo; Kim Dominick on electric bass; Bob Ervin, rhythm guitar and vocals. 

Blues @ The Elks happens on the second Tuesday of the month from 7 pm to 10 pm at the Plymouth Ann Arbor Elks Lodge #325 in partnership with the Detroit Blues Society (www.detroitbluessociety.org). There is a $5 donation at the door and bring your dancing shoes. 

 

Tuesday, July 10th get ready to go to New Orleans with the Zydeco Hepcats with Monsieur Guillame. The Monsieur on accordion and vocals, Jason Bone on guitar and vocals, Perez Morris on rub board and percussion, Mike Ziegeler on drums, Frankie Lee on bass and vocals, and Joe LaBeau on sax. What a talented lineup! This is one of the most fun bands we bring in and we hope you join us. www.zydecohepcats.com.

 

Dr. Pocket Band is a special event that will take place on Saturday, July 14th.  This horn driven rhythm and blues monster has been wowing audiences in southeastern Michigan for over twenty years.  The 10-piece band features powerful vocals and equally powerful horns.  Dr. Pocket plays foot stomping, dance-worthy songs from such classic bands as Chicago as well as today’s hits. Craig Strain is the band leader known as Dr. Pocket. www.Drpoc.com/#theband. $12 donation includes dinner from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Band plays from 8 pm to 11 pm. Reservations required. Jazz @ The Elks happens on the last Tuesday of the month from 7 pm to 9:30 pm. There is a $10 donation at the door which includes hors d’oeuvres.  Enjoy jazz in a listening room setting close to the entertainers.

 

Tuesday, July 31st She’s got class, great talent and knows how to please her audience. Yes, it’s Barbara Ware with the Cliff Monear Trio. Joining Barbara on vocals are Cliff Monear on keyboard, Jeff Pedraz on bass, and Sean Dobbins on drums. If you like improvisation, this Trio does it best.  We are so happy to have Barbara Ware back with us with this great Trio. www.barbarawarejazz.com.
