About the Washtenaw Chorale
The Washtenaw Chorale performs both sacred and secular music, often with local orchestras. The Chorale works from a base of sixty to seventy singers drawn from all over Washtenaw County and southeast Michigan.  Many members are or have been active in community and church choirs in the area.  Members are united by their love of singing classical music and the fellowship they enjoy together.  Over the past nine years, the Chorale has collaborated successfully with the Dexter Community Orchestra and the Ypsilanti Orchestra.  In the past, the Dexter High School Orchestra an the Dexter High School Choirs have joined us in our holiday season programs.
As a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, tax-deductible donations to support chorus expenses are always welcome.
About the Conductor
Alex Cave, Music Director, is a gifted choral musician, active as a choral conductor, music director, vocal teacher, arranger and singer.  While in high school, he studied voice and cello at the Cleveland Institute of Music and with members of the Cleveland Orchestra.  Mr. Cave earned his Bachelor’s degree in choral conducting at Indiana University.  He has been musical director of the Washtenaw Choral since 2015, after serving as the group’s co-director in prior years.  In addition, Mr. Cave is currently Director of Music for the Congregational Church of Birmingham.
